AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB INTERMEDIATE

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES RESUME IN SEPTEMBER 2022!
CLASS 1: THURSDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 4-5PM

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This course is reserved for children up to 15 years of age. Young adults aged sixteen and over can enrol in one of my adult group courses (subject to parental approval). A maximum of twenty kids enrolled per class so as to enable students to move and up and down between classes depending on their strength and progress. The best way to work out what the right course is for each student is to follow the online chess rating criteria, i.e. Complete Beginners (Unrated to 700 ELO), Experienced Beginners (700-1000 ELO) & Intermediate (1000-1400 ELO). If you enrol in the Intermediate Course and find it too difficult, you can move to one of the experienced beginners classes on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons from 4-5pm. Similarly if you find the experienced beginners class too easy, you can move to the intermediate course on Thursdays from 4-5pm.

Testimonial

Paul Ryan, Bray Chess Club

Mark delivers really good engaging content and gets to know each participants style of play. The weekly tournaments offer players the chance to do battle against each other and Mark provides valuable feedback and analysis on games played. I would highly recommend Chess Bud to chess players of all skill levels.

Chess Tip

Horse Lesson

The horse completes its move by moving two squares straight and one more square to the right or left. When played forward, it is played two squares forward and sideways. When he plays backwards, he completes his move, two squares and sideways.
