Monday After-School Kids Club – Middlegame Plan Formation & Calculating Better and Deeper – Advanced (1400 – 2000)

MONDAY AFTERNOONS (5 – 6 PM)

Course Themes: Middlegame Plan Formation & Calculating Better and Deeper. 

COURSE DURATION: 6 weeks
COURSE TIMES: 5 – 6pm
COURSE DATES: Jan 13th/ 20th/ 27th & February 3rd/ 10th / 17th 2025
COURSE LEVEL: Primary & Secondary School Kids; Rated 1400 – 2000 ELO 

Group analysis, strategic thinking and calculating accurately is the core of this course.  Students will be given a set of difficult puzzles and tricky middlegame challenges to mull over in advance of each class.  The positions that students will be challenged to solve will come from their own games as well as contemporary and classic master games.  The aim of this course is to give students a new set of tools to help:

1. Choose the best attacking plan in complex middlegame positions
2. Select the best practical defensive set-up when your opponent has the upper-hand.
3. Calculate key lines more accurately and deeply.

COURSE FEES: 60 Euros (10 Euro per student per class)
This course will run with a minimum of 6 students.  If cancelled, a full refund will be issued.

The group meets once a week for 60 minutes on Monday afternoons from  5 – 6pm  The Online class is conducted using Zoom and is reserved for primary and secondary school kids who have been playing over-the-board tournament chess for some time and have an online or over-the-board rating of 1400 – 2000 Elo.
