Hi Everyone, First of all, may I congratulate you all on being selected to play on the Irish Team at the ESCC in Limerick in a few weeks. I am going to be the head coach in the run up to the event and also during the competition. It would really help me if you could fill out the following questionnaire. As your coach, I will not share this information with anyone else. And if we are to play each other in the future, I undertake not to use this information to my own personal advantage. By filling out this form and letting me know the opening repertoire you are intending to play in Limerick , I will be better able to offer advice in the weeks running up to the event, and also to make recommendations against specific opponents you may face during the tournament, as I will have built up a database of the other players from different countries which you are likely to face in advance of the tournament. The more I know about your current opening repertoire, what you perceive your current strengths and weaknesses are, the easier it will be for me to help you focus your energies when preparing before and during the tournament. I would invite those of you who already use the chessbase program to upload pgn files of your recent over-the-board games to the Chess Bud Learning Portal (from Friday when I create your personal accounts). Alternatively, if you know how to input and save your recent over-the-board games in a lichess study, if you share them with me - my lichess handle is Chess Bud Ireland-I will review those games, so as to gain an insight into your play. If you don't use chessbase or you don't know how to create and share a lichess study yet, I will be able to review your Limerick repertoire if you let me know your chess.com handle as I will be able to go into your chess.com account and search the specific opening lines you play based on your selections you have made in the form below. If for some reason, the opening variations you intend to play as white or black in Limerick are not covered in the form below, please let me know as much as possible about your repertoire in the Additional Notes Section at the end of this form. There are two days of double-rounds in Limerick, when there will be little time for us to prep you for your opponent. I hope to have created databases of your opponents in advance of the tournament, so I will be able to direct you on what to focus on and look over in advance of you sitting down to face your opponent. To do this effectively, it's important that you fill this form giving me as much detail as possible about the repertoire you intend to play in Limerick.
