Course Theme: Master the Fundamentals & Take the First Steps Towards Chess Mastery.

COURSE DATES: Jan 13th/ 20th/ 27th & February 3rd/ 10th / 17th 2025
COURSE LEVEL: Adults (16+); Unrated to 1000 ELO
This six-week online course is for players who have recently taken up the game or may have returned to the game after an extended break, Experienced Beginners are usually players who have played for fun for quite some time, sometimes years, sometimes decades. They know how all the pieces move, understand key concepts such as checkmate, stalemate, en passant etc., but have yet to develop their knowledge and understanding of the game beyond that which they have discovered for themselves using their imaginations and Beginners Mind. This course aims to super-charge experienced beginners by introducing them to exciting new opening set-ups and attacking strategies as well as daring tactical concepts and ideas to help push their game to the next level and beyond. In class, you will have the opportunity to play and then analyse friendly games against other students orsimuls against Mark. Each week you will be given a set of puzzles to mull over which will be analysed in class. These positions are specially selected to help develop your overall game and encompass the three phases of the game of chess, the opening, the middlegame and the endgame. Through analysis and play in class, you will improve your technique and enhance your general chess understanding. You will hopefully also have a lot of fun playingout some of these positions out against classmates or Mark in class simuls in the Chess Bud Portal 🙂
COURSE FEES: 72 Euros (12 Euro per student per class)
This course will run with a minimum of 6 students. If cancelled, a full refund will be issued.

You can sign-up mid-way and just pay for the remaining classes.
